On April Fool’s Day, people all over the world play jokes on each other. Newspapers also play jokes on their readers and publish stories that aren’t true.

·        TARTAN  DAY: April 6^th

Scottish people around the world celebrate Tartan Day. It is the anniversary of a declaration of Scottish independence in 1320 and of course, most Scottish peole celebrate this day by wearing tartan, especially kilts.

·        APRIL 21^st: QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY

This year is an important one for Her Majesty. She will be 90 years old!

·        APRIL 22nd: EARTH  DAY

Earth Day is celebrated by more than 500 million people in 175 countries. In the USA, some people plant trees on Earth Day. This helps people understand and preserve the planet. But there is another day to plant  trees in the USA: Arbor Day at the end of April….for those who forgot on 22 April!
