Donut Day honours the 250 American women who went to France to serve
donuts to American soldiers in the First World War. On Donut Day many donut
shops in the USA offer free donuts!

JUNE: The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee
In June, The United Kingdom will celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s 60th
year as queen. There will be street parties, concerts and fireworks. On 3 June,
1.000 boats will sail down the Thames and the Queen will be on her throne on
her royal barge.

FLAG
DAY: JUNE 14th
The week of 14 June is National Flag Week. It’s a very important even in
the USA. The president asks Americans to fly the flag that week. The first US
flag symbolized freedom from the British and it is also a symbol of patriotism.
There are flags on schools and public building. Some Americans even put flags
in their gardens.

OF THE MONTH: SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN
This is a new version of the fairy tale. Kirsten Stewart ( Bella Swam in
Twilight) is Snow White, the only person more beautiful than the evil queen
(Charlize Theron). The queen decides to send a huntsman to kill her. But
instead, he trains Snow White to be a warrior. This is amore rebellious Snow
White than Disney’s animated version.
